Dear Congregation, 
As we prepare for the second anniversary celebration of the BELIEVE campaign, this letter is an update on what has been happening with your Executive Building Committee and planning for our new Worship Center.   

The Building Committee has met several times throughout the past year and more recently with the Finance Committee, the Trustees, and representatives of the BELIEVE campaign and pastoral staff to discuss the project.  We continue to visit other new worship centers in Southern California, and never come back from these trips without new ideas and refining our own Worship Center building plans. 

We believe God has placed before us a clear vision and program for our new Worship Center that will allow it to be very functional and inviting to provide ministry to our community in ways our interim worship center cannot.   We all want to see ground breaking for the Worship Center begin as soon as possible.  However, the project itself will take approximately three years to complete from where we now stand in the design process to completion of construction. We also have to be prudent and realistic in our thinking and planning, as well as good stewards of what God has given us. 

To that end, church staff is looking at ways to maximize use of our existing buildings. We know that once a worship center reaches 80% capacity continued growth usually slows or stops.  We have reached that point on Sunday mornings.  Our pastors are working on a church growth plan that will require the support and involvement of each one of us.  This is a good challenge to be facing!

These are exciting times and I would ask each of us to PRAY to remain committed to the Lord.  PRAY every time you enter the church grounds, and every time you are reminded of the many effective ministries God has blessed Immanuel with.  Pray for our pastors and staff, and their families. PRAY also for our leaders to make the right decisions regarding this building endeavor, and that we as a church will have enough FAITH to move forward at the correct time. Finally, please PRAY for us as a church and individually to be committed to this very worthy project.
